I am interested in simulation as a way to understand complex systems.

My work focuses on scientific simulation: constructing models, inferring their rules, and making their behaviour intelligible. I develop domain-specific models through pre-training and adapt language models through post-training to support model discovery. My research draws on approximate inference, geometric learning, deep generative models, and symbolic regression to study living and non-equilibrium systems.
